NexStep Integrated Pain Care offers treatment to patients wtih chronic pain problems, addictions or both.
Many physicians are not comfortable treating patients with chronic pain problems or addiction problems and are especially uncomfortable treating patients with both problems. Most doctors who are pain specialists are not addiction specialists and most addictionologists are not pain experts. Even those specialists are often uncomfortable or unwilling to treat patients with both problems.
Drs. John B. Hunt and William S. Jacobs are among a small group of doctors in the entire country who are board certified Anesthesiologists with additional certifications in Pain Medicine and in Addiction Medicine. They have created a new medical practice, NexStep Integrated Pain Care, in Jacksonville, Florida that welcomes patients with chronic pain problems, addiction problems or both. They provide comprehensive evaluations of patients and develop individual treatment plans for this unique and growing group of patients. Area doctors now have a place to refer patients with these challenging issues.
